To celebrate this dad's day, Rob's parents and brother, and my Dad came over for lunch after church. Ben smoked a wonderful Boston butt and Rob made some bake beans that were out of this world. We also had potato salad, courtesy of Publix!

Jackson's special gift to his dad was a canvas oil drawing of him and Rob shooting fireworks. He also gave him a very special card. Every year since Rob and I have been together, Jackson and I have made the card he to gives to Rob. We basically collage all the great pictures I've taken of the two of them throughout year and then Jackson writes whatever he wants inside. Each card has captured so many wonderful memories- I love looking back at them ever year. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

This past week was a blast. Jackson had a lot of fun going to the pool, playing with friends and hanging out with Nanna, Gran and Pappa. Rob took off work Friday and Saturday and he and Jackson went to the annual Father/Son basketball camp at the University of Alabama. It was their 4th or 5th year to go, and Jackson always loves it.

The Tuesday after a Non-Monday

Rob and I spent a much needed long weekend at the beach for Memorial Day. It was really good to see Angie and we met up with some other friends while we were down there.

We get Jackson for our first week of summer this Sunday-- so let the fun begin! Actually this year is the first that I haven't planned a bunch of stuff for him to do while he's in Tuscaloosa. Rob will be taking him to the Alabama father/son basketball camp and we'll be doing Bible School, but that's really about it.

Jackson received honors this morning at his school Rocky Ridge. He was recognized as the third grade winner of the Finely Character Award (that is a really big deal in the Hoover school system) and also for having straight A's on his report cards this year. WE ARE SO PROUD OF HIM!!!

Jackson and I have never been to a race- it was you first, and we all had a blast! We actually saw the Busch race on Saturday.

Jackson's Birthday Party

Jackson birthday was so much fun! We had 15 kids! Everyone got a water gun and a dive stick to play with in the pool and when the kids left, Jackson gave them one of those huge pixie stixs. Rob's mom made the traditional Colburn birthday cake- which everyone loved!

Jackson turned 9 this past Tuesday and we're having a pool party this Saturday to celebrate. (The picture above is from last year's party which was an overnight camp out) Rob and I have been running around trying to get everything together- we're going tonight to get party favors.

Max, our six-month-old Shelty, has learned his first commands! He can now "sit" and "shake". I'm so proud!

Rob and I went to the beach this past weekend. (If you look really close, you can see us-- no not really-- but that is the view from the condo.) We ate dinner with friends Saturday night and they introduced us to this great little restaurant, Geno's. We're going back over Memorial Day weekend. Rob and I are both are off on Friday and Monday. Sea-N-Suds here we come, again!
