Last night God smiled on me-- my Dad handed me the keys to one of his Corvettes. He's letting me drive it while my car is in the shop getting a new transmission(thank goodness for extended warranties). I'm actually not sure which I'm more excited about, the fact that I'm driving the car that I've drooled over since my Dad first brought it home, or that fact that my Dad actually trust me to drive this 1976 Anniversary Edition Classic. No, it's not Candy Apple Red as shown in the pictures- it's silver, and it's gorgeous!

The Phantom of the Opera

I saw The Phantom of the Opera for the first time this weekend and absolutely LOVED it! Dianne went to Birmingham with Rob and I for the Sunday matinee. It's been a year since Rob and I have seen any plays at the BJCC- mostly because we just haven't been impressed with the Birmingham Broadway Series selections. I think the last thing we saw was RENT-- and before that STOMP- both very good, RENT being my favorite of all time.

The Broadway Across America series actually looks pretty good this year, so Rob and I will probably renew our season tickets. I'm hoping we'll be able to take Jackson to at least one-- he'd love STOMP and ANNIE.

Jackson had his fall break last week, so we got to pick him up Wednesday and have him til Sunday night. Rob took off Thursday and he and Jackson worked on his Rainforest project for school. He, with a little help from Dad, wrote a 4 page paper (in cursive). When I got home, we all worked on the Rainforest model. He worked really hard and he is sooo proud!

Friday night we all spent the night in B'ham and then watched the game at Amy and Frankie's house on Saturday. Jackson was so excited to see Jack and Neil again that he was counting down the exits to their house!!

I came into work early this morning- working the 7-4 shift. The office is quiet. My boss and one of our cohorts are in Ohio for a tradeshow. The quite is good though. I’ve got a lot going on in the next couple days—the biggest of which is DJ and Allison’s wedding. Very unlike me is the fact that I still haven’t bought the happy couple a gift- nor was I able to attend any of their showers. I am however going tonight to help decorate for the rehearsal dinner and I’ll be at the bridesmaid luncheon tomorrow with bells on.

Yes, everyone in our family is well aware that Saturday is UA’s Homecoming- and no, none of us will be attending the game- but come on- it’s my brother’s wedding! And besides, it will be a nice change of pace. Rob and I both tend to get consumed by football this time of year, our lives revolve around Saturday’s game time.
